EDUC 5373- Week 5 Blog (Budget and Policy Considerations)

  Internet access is not a major issue in my school community. The district is funded by the Universal Service Fund (USF) or E-Rate, which provides affordable telecommunication services. Overall, the district has ninety-two percent broadband access, and while the community has wide broadband usage, the locality in which my elementary school is located carries a significant portion of those lacking broadband usage. This locality also includes 12.6 % of families within the district falling below the poverty line, and 8.9% of these families are aided with Food Stamp or SNAP benefits, hence purchasing these digital resources would pose a challenge (National Center for Education Statistics, 2025). All the students and other stakeholders within the school district have equal access to computers and reliable internet connectivity.       Educational Technology Integration Plan - Professional Development   Professional Development is an essential component of my Technology Integration Plan for educators to effectively incorporate technology guided by the ISTE standards in their daily instruction. Educators will be provided with different modes of ongoing technology training prior to and during implementation. Virtual Coaching professional development is one of the modes of delivery that will be employed. Coaching is an innovative approach to professional development for participants that results in a significant impact on teachers' digital competencies and students' achievement (Zimmer & Matthews, 2022).
